Eric Haas
Eric Haas, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, is Principal of DSH // architecture, focusing on project design, sustainability strategies, tectonics and materiality, and historic-cultural connections. His research and professional interests range from design theory and urban histories to material systems and technological influences on design thinking.
He led the rehabilitation of R.M. Schindler’s Bubeshko Apartments, a project that received multiple awards including the Docomomo Residential Design Award of Excellence, a Design Honor Award from the AIA/Los Angeles, and a Los Angeles Conservancy Preservation Award, and which established an influential approach to “progressive conservation.”
Haas is Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, where he coordinates undergraduate design studios, and received the university’s Mentoring Award for his guidance of graduating students. He received a Bachelor of Design with high honors from the University of Florida, studied at the Vicenza Institute of Architecture in Italy, and holds a M.Arch. from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.
